About Us
Who We Are
Advancing gender equality and improving the wellbeing of marginalized populations across Ghana.
Fifty Fifty Initiative for Development (FFID) is a registered non-profit organization committed to improving the wellbeing of vulnerable and marginalized populations in Ghana. We champion gender equality through education, skills development, livelihood enhancement, and community-centered advocacy.
Since our establishment, we have supported farmers, empowered women and girls, expanded access to safe drinking water, and strengthened community participation in local governance. Our work focuses on practical, evidence-based interventions that create long-term social and economic impact.
Vision
A society where people of all genders have equal access and opportunities to resources and power.
Mission
To champion gender equality initiatives through education, skills development, and advocacy in Ghana.
Core Values
Innovation, Collective Responsibility, Learning and Sharing, Opportunities for All and Transparency and Accountability.
FFID’s work is rooted in four approaches:
Rights-Based Approach (RBA)
FFID empowers marginalized groups to understand, claim, and defend their rights. This approach strengthens equity by promoting accountability and challenging systems that exclude vulnerable populations.
Community-Driven Development (CDD)
FFID works directly with communities to identify priorities and design local solutions. This participatory approach builds ownership, strengthens sustainability, and encourages collective action for change.
Gender Mainstreaming
FFID integrates gender equity into all programs, policies, and decisions. This ensures inclusive planning, equitable access to opportunities, and long-term improvements for women and all genders.
Partnership & Collaboration
FFID collaborates with government, civil society, and development partners to amplify impact. These partnerships enhance advocacy, strengthen resources, and support unified efforts toward community transformation.
What We Do
Expanding access to safe drinking water, sanitation facilities, and menstrual hygiene support while promoting healthier communities.
Strengthening women’s participation in community leadership and promoting gender-responsive governance at local and district levels.
Empowering women to actively contribute to peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and social cohesion in their communities.
Enhancing food security and income through improved farming practices, skills development, and access to financial services for farmers, women, and youth.
